The first week
New locs and braids settle in the first few days. Keep them dry for the first 48 hours, don't pull the roots, and resist retwisting anything yourself.
Before & after
A little preparation gets you a better result in less time and good aftercare is what makes it last.
Aftercare
New locs and braids settle in the first few days. Keep them dry for the first 48 hours, don't pull the roots, and resist retwisting anything yourself.
Wash every two to three weeks with a clear residue-free shampoo, working the lather into the scalp and letting it run down the length. Squeeze — never wring — and dry completely so nothing sours inside the loc.
A satin scarf, bonnet or pillowcase every night. It keeps the frizz down, holds the parting, and makes a style last weeks longer.
Light oil on the scalp, not the locs. Keep heavy butters and creams away from the roots — build-up is the main reason a loc slips or smells.
Reties every four to six weeks for traditional locs, and six to eight for micro locs. Any longer and the new growth is harder — and slower — to work with.
Itching that won't settle, tenderness, flaking or a loc coming apart — call 4312670205 rather than waiting for your next appointment. Most of it is quick to sort early.
